SITE VISITS
Throughout my time in Prato, I was fortunate enough to visit various places that are involved in the textile industry. This allowed me to have a better perception of what’s happening in Italy regarding the sustainable practices of textiles.
Starting with the tour of the Museum of Textiles in Prato we were there was a lot of information regarding the circular process and how clothing is naturally dyed.
Comistra is a wool recycling company that takes pre-loved woollen garments through a circular process to create new fabric. Walking through the factory was a great experience to see this process firsthand.
Lotto Zero is a textile laboratory in Prato. They have facilities available to the public for silk screen printing, dyeing fabrics, weaving, embroidery and so much more.
